Peanut Butter Recall Spurs New Pet Treat RecallsSalmonella Scare Causes Happy Tails Dog Treats Recall
Wondering what pet foods and pet treats have been recalled due to the peanut butter salmonella scare? Several brands of dog treats containing peanut butter are recalled.
The list of recalled pet food products has grown, as more and more products are recalled as a result of the salmonella contamination involving peanut butter and peanut paste manufactured at the Peanut Corporation of America's manufacturing plant in Georgia. The salmonella-tainted peanut butter has sickened hundreds of humans and salmonella deaths have even been reported as a result of the peanut butter salmonella contamination. What makes the situation a bit more difficult is that the peanut butter that's contaminated with salmonella isn't sold by the jar; it's sold to commercial manufacturing facilities. So food products that used the tainted peanut butter as an ingredient are being tracked down and recalled. Several pet food products were added to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) list of recalled foods.
