How to Recognize Animal Cruelty
Animal cruelty happens in many different forms but there are nine main examples on how to detect it:
- Tick or flea infestations.
- Wounds to the body.
- Patches of missing hair.
- Extremely thin = starving.
- Limping.
- Owner striking or physically abusing animal.
- Animals who are repeatedly left alone with out food or water
- Animals - such as dogs - who are left outside in extreme whether conditions and chained up.
- Animals who show fear or act aggressively when approached by their owners.
Personally Preventing Animal Cruelty
One major aspect in preventing animal cruelty is to adopt an animal. Animal adoption organizations - the Humane Society, etc. - are easy to find which makes adopting an animal very simple.
When adopting an animal, there is most generally an adoption fee that will go towards helping all of the other animals that have not yet been adopted.
Another way to personally prevent animal cruelty is to call a local animal organization when animal cruelty is witnessed.
Animals are left astray too much. When seeing an animal with out a collar that is wondering around helplessly, one needs to either get the animal and start caring for it or call a local animal shelter. Turning the other cheek is not an option in this situation.
