A heartworm diagnosis in cats is rare, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Prevention is the key.


With heartworm disease so widespread our cats are now in danger for contracting the disease. Most veterinarians will not recommend testing your cat annually the way we do dogs but you should definitely use heartworm prevention, especially if your cat goes outside. See your veterinarian if you think your cat may have heartwom disease.
