This is a great rundown on all the flea/tick products available. I have to agree with your statement about the store bought topicals. You may as well put water drops on your pet.

There may be other great products out there but I've used Advantage for years and have no need to fix "what's not broke". Actually it works so well that I only use it if I find a flea, which is usually around Spring or Fall. Because of Advantage I haven't had to worry about fleas in years!

Thanks Joy, I'm a Frontline girl myself (for my dog) and I love Revolution for my cats because of the added heartworm and ear mite preventative. But your right "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I remember as a child my parents trying to battle fleas before we had all these great products. I remember fleas jumping on my school books while I was trying to read and having flea bites all over my arms and legs, it was horrible until our veterinarian introduced us to Program, it was a God send. Now fleas have adapted so well to that product it is considered old school and really doesn't work as well anymore. Thankfully we continue to have new stuff that works and I have to say I've not experienced fleas like that since childhood. (I feel like I should knock on wood now.)
