» gleno51 - Unwated snails in my acquarium

I have a 6 year old 55-gallon fish acquarium with about 35 various tetras. About 6 months ago I noticed a few snails in the gravel. The tank is now "working alive" with them. I net about 20-30 every morning, and I'll get 50 or more out of a handful of gravel. They are cone-shaped, and range in size from barely visible to 1/4 inch long. My local fish store said they are asexual, so you'll never get rid of them if there is just one left. And they said there is no product that will kill them. Can you offer ANY suggestion as to how I can get rid of them without emptying the tank and starting over.

Gross! Sorry, I don't have a clue as to how to get rid of them. I would hate to tell you to start over but I really don't know. Anybody else out there have any ideas or tricks for getting rid of snails.
